Only full-time enrollment is available in our nursery. We care for
children ages six weeks to two years. Children in our Infant and
Crawler Rooms are assigned to their own crib. Each age group has a
curriculum that offers a wide range of appropriate activities. All
nursery staff members are certified through Children and Family
Services and are certified in First Aid and CPR. Along with these
certifications, each staff member attends yearly in-service
training.

Infants
We have babies in our nursery from 6 weeks to 24 months. They
graduate through our three nursery classes from infants to
crawlers, to toddlers and then cross over to the two year old
class on the pre-school side of the campus.
Crawlers
Each teacher in our
nursery classes has her own “family” of four to six children
that she is responsible for, so the children feel secure and
comfortable.
Toddlers

Two’s
Our two’s are incredibly busy learning about themselves, mastering
new skills, potty training and discovering that it’s fun to
share and play with friends. They are guided lovingly through a
challenging year of maturing and growing in God’s love.
Three’s
There is nothing as delightful as a three year old. They are full
of wonder at every new adventure. They are so eager to master
each new skill that they are introduced to.
Our three year old curriculum will
include units on color and shape recognition, alphabet
introduction and special themes such as “All about Me”,
Community Helpers, Health and Nutrition and so much more. In
addition, there will be circle time, story time and center time
for praying, playing and pretending.
Pre-K
Fours are ready to soak up everything around them. They study the
alphabet and learn to write it. Their curiosity and ability to
retain information is astounding. Each day they learn new skills
like tying shoes, buttoning buttons and writing their own name.
They are preparing themselves to become independent and to
tackle the world of reading and mathematics that awaits them.
VPK
The Appleseed Preschool participates
in the State Voluntary Prekindergarten Program (VPK), children
who are four years old on or before September 1st are eligible
for this free program and will receive the same quality
education as our other children with an emphasis on emergent
literacy. The goal of the VPK program is to prepare our students
for success in school.
Our VPK program hours are 9:00 -12:00 Monday thru Friday. We
also offer wrap around care for those students who need care
before the hours of 9:00 am and after 12.00 pm.
Our VPK students thrive in a literacy rich environment that is
full of many different learning experiences. We use a center
based approach to teaching our children about the world around
them. Each of our classrooms offers activities for learning in
literacy, dramatic play, block play, creative arts, sand and
water play, number concepts, science, cooking, music & movement,
computers and a Spanish Enrichment program. We have a 90%
success rate for reading before our students enter kindergarten.
