"The Cross is Not a Crime"

“PASTOR CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF TOWN CENTER MALL”

Calls “Confrontation” over Cross "Discrimination”

Easter Sunday, March 23rd, 2008, Senior Pastor Mark D. Boykin of Church of All Nations,” 1300 NW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida, released a “press statement” calling for a “Boycott” of the Town Center Mall.

The “shopping boycott” centers on an “incident” that transpired on Saturday, March 15th, 2008, during the annual “Via Dolorosa” Walk, a longstanding annual tradition.

Youth members from “Church of All Nations” were asked to remove the crosses they were carrying to place in a van in the parking lot where they were to be held until after lunch in the mall.

Subsequently, they were to continue on their “walk” around the city, for which they had received a city permit.

The date for the boycott will be Saturday May 10th, 2008. Protesters will be gathering at “Church of All Nations” at 9AM at 1300 NW 4th Avenue, and marching approximately 3 miles west to the mall entrance at Glades Road.

Join the approximately 300 people already signed up as we walk for the sake of the cross!

On public walkways we will pray and show our community that we are not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Rest Awhile

By Joyce Meyer

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest.  (Matthew 11:28).

Getting stress out of your life takes more than prayer alone. You must take action to make changes and stop doing whatever is causing the stress. You can learn to calm down in the way you handle things.

Jesus invited us to come to Him if we are overburdened. He promised to refresh us if we are weary, worn out, or overworked. Take time to go to Jesus anytime you feel that you are going over the edge of peace and into the pit of stress. Let His presence refill and refresh you.

Rev. Mark D.Boykin

For the next four to five weeks, Pastor Pastor Mark D. Boykin will preach a series of sermons on Sunday mornings on the theme of "Breaking Through and Building Up".

Many Christians after ten or more years in their Christian walk, cannot break free from their current level. They may be facing unbelief, or some other factor that hinders them from moving forward.

They may have had that belief at the time of their initial calling, but do not see how God can use them in a greater way. They become stuck in a rut. Only prayer will break that mold of unbelief. They must break free from the mold of negative thoughts. They need to crush the negativity and have God make them what He wants them to be.

In the first of these series, Pastor Mark Boykin examined "Divine Moments", in Nehemiah1:1-6. In every life, our life is altered by divine moments; those unexpected tragedies or events that break upon us like a wave from nowhere.

These moments are sent to us by divine decree. We must then decide if the event is truly a divine moment or just another event of life. If it is a message from God's heart to us, will it define us; or will we become indifferent and callous to it? We must crush negativity and have God make you what God wants you to be.

We must pray and open our hearts to these divine moments. God wants us to open our hearts to change. Will we open our hearts like Nehemiah and pray for guidance, or will we close ourselves off? We must engage ourselves and be involved. We must be an agent of change to affect the lives of others.

We can learn three points from the story of Nehemiah:

1. The problem that compelled him.

The problem that affected Nehemiah affected his brothers. Nehemiah's life was in good order. He was an advisor to the King and was set for life. But Nehemiah was moved by the story of great distress of his brothers.
